Windsor memorial

celebrating Lolly

A memorial Mass was celebrated in the beautiful old church of St. Alphonsus in downtown Windsor by Fathers Clarence Fitzgerald, Al Williams and Dan O'Sullivan - all good friends of Matt and Christine, who had travelled from England for the occasion, as had their daughter Beverley. The whole service was conducted with the grace and dignity appropriate to the memory of such an outstanding human being.

After the service, light refreshments were served in the adjoining Parish hall, compliments of the Irish Club.

The final event of this most memorable evening was a musical celebration of Paul's life at Patrick O. Ryan's pub, and it was also a fundraiser for one of Paul's favourite charities, Families for Children. Various local musicians generously donated their time, and three members of the Irish Rovers attended to honour their friend and former member. One came from British Columbia and two came all the way from Ireland for the occasion. This, in itself, was marked testimony to the great respect in which Paul was held. The fundraiser generated $1,000.00 for Families for Children.
